Catherine Evans


Catherine Evans graduated from Dickinson College (BA) and Cornell University with a Ph.D. in German and Comparative Literatures. She was a university administrator for a number of years. For the past twenty years, Catherine has been very involved in community affairs, especially in north and northeast Baltimore, serving as president of her community association (Belvedere Improvement Association) for fifteen years, president and corresponding secretary of NECO (Northeast Community Organization), principal board member of NEDA (NorthEast Development Alliance), chair of the York Road Partnership, president of the Friends of Govans Library, vice president of the Friends of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, president of the Women’s Institute at the College of Notre Dame, and on the board of the Baltimore City Historical Society. She has been named one of Maryland “Top 100 Women” three times by the Daily Record. Catherine is currently working on a book on the history of the First Unitarian Church of Baltimore.
